his year, HAPI, in cooperation with Philam Life, is setting up the PHC to be even bigger and better than before.
Set to take place from 7 a.m. (open for registration) to 6 p.m. on October 22, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, SMX Aura Premier in Taguig City, the PHC 2016 bears the theme “From Roots to Wings: Homeschooling through the Stages”.
Hoping to meet the needs and address the concerns of homeschooling families at different stages – from learning more about homeschooling, getting started, and staying the course perhaps even up to the end of high school – the theme was inspired by the following lines of this poem:

Bearing the theme in mind, the PHC 2016’s line-up of speakers includes international and local speakers who are passionate homeschooling advocates, and are also experienced homeschoolers.
The PHC 2016 Expo is also sure to delight any homeschooler with its offerings of products and services that can help them provide their kids with a rich learning experience.
PHC 2016 Keynote Speakers and Topics
Four keynote speakers who are well known in the local and international homeschooling scene will inspire participants to provide their children with “roots,” build their foundation, and give them “wings” so they can soar to greater heights.
Deonna Tanchi and her daughter Joy Tanchi-Mendoza will be speaking as a tandem on “Building a Firm Foundation" – something that is crucial to every homeschooling family. Deonna, along with her husband Peter Tanchi, is one of the pioneers of the Philippine homeschooling movement. She homeschooled Joy and her other children at a time when homeschooling had never been heard of among Filipinos. Now, Joy and her husband Edric are also homeschooling their five kids with Homeschool Global, and are passionate homeschooling advocates as well. Joy also inspires homeschooling and non-homeschooling parents alike via her blog www.teachwithjoy.com.
U.S.-based speaker Andrew Pudewa's topic on "Motivation: The Art and Science of Helping Children Learn Well," will surely be beneficial to homeschoolers in all stages. Andrew is the director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing (www.iew.com), and is a highly sought-after international speaker who specializes in issues related to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music.
"Wings to Soar: Leaving a Legacy for Our Children" to be given by Bo Sanchez (www.bosanchez.ph) is set to encourage all homeschoolers to remember the "whys" behind homeschooling – and help children soar to greater heights. Bo is a bestselling author, international speaker, and entrepreneur. He also founded the Light of Jesus Family and Catholic Filipino Academy, a homeschool provider accredited by the Department of Education.
